Parent & Child Program
Based on Emmi Pikler's groundbreaking work on Respectful Care for the development of very young children and Steiner-Waldorf pedagogy, our Parent and Child Program brings an environment of calm, loving support that focuses attention on each child's unique personality and need for relationship and self-initiated play.
At Gulmohar, the Parent/Caregiver & Child Classes offer a nurturing, community-oriented experience designed for children from infancy to two-and-a-half years old along with their parents or caregivers. Our holistic approach to child development recognises the interconnectedness of physical, emotional and spiritual aspects of human experience and addresses these developmental needs in a supportive environment.
Sweet, Gentle & Home-Like
Our sweet and gentle classes are held in a warm and inviting classroom filled with natural materials such as play-silks, wooden blocks, knitted toys, wooden trucks and handmade dolls and animals, for the children to engage with. Children can play while their accompanying adults work on simple, beautiful projects.
Sessions consist of 6-week blocks one day per week, Saturdays through the year. We are also now starting week-day classes with options to join for one, two or up to three days a week.
We recommend registering soon these wonderful classes fill up quickly. We take a maximum of seven families per session.

Why Choose Our Classes
In a time where so many typically developing children have retained primitive reflexes due to premature or cesarean births and lack of opportunity for free self-initiated movement, paediatric therapists all around the world are witnessing increasing problems with the proper integration of primitive reflexes. In these very early years, allowing the children to go through the natural progression of movement with their own wisdom and allowing them to unfold without restriction in the right environment can help to remove all the obstacles to healthy natural motor development.
This program is designed by educators who have been formally trained in Developmental Psychology and Sensory Integration. It is a one-of-a-kind program in Pakistan, built to support the child’s healthy motor development and to educate the parents on the importance of trusting the wisdom of the young child in their natural unfolding by removing the obstacles that stand in the way of the developing child.
The program fosters a calm, unhurried environment that supports sensory development and emotional well-being. Caregivers also have the opportunity to learn about child development, gentle discipline, and the importance of establishing daily rhythms. Additionally, the program offers a space for caregivers to build supportive connections with one another. Our holistic approach to child development recognizes the interconnectedness of physical, emotional and spiritual aspects of human experience and addresses cognitive, physical and emotional developmental needs in a supportive environment
